Erika Boom is a Colombian Industrial Engineer with nearly three decades of experience in the fitness industry, specializing in women’s health, pre- and postnatal training, active lifestyle & athleisure designer.

She is a former American Council on Exercise (ACE®)–certified personal trainer and certified pre- and postnatal physical conditioning instructor. From her own experience staying active during pregnancy with her son, Oliver, Boom developed a proprietary prenatal and postnatal fitness methodology. This led her to found Belly-n-Kicks®, the first and only studio in Miami dedicated exclusively to pre- and postnatal fitness. For 15 years, she owned and operated the studio, offering a comprehensive program designed to keep women strong, healthy, and confident during and after pregnancy. Franchise opportunities for Belly-n-Kicks® are also available.

As a mom, coach, and lifelong athlete, Boom’s work has always been rooted in real-life experience. In 2013, her passion for movement and her personal search for workout apparel that truly fit both her body and lifestyle inspired her to enter the athleisure space. She launched her own apparel line, fully designed and manufactured by Boom, featuring tops, bottoms, and unitards with distinctive designs made from high-technology and recycled fabrics, primarily produced in Colombia and Brazil.

What began as an athleisure brand evolved into FIT MAMA, a lifestyle brand created to empower women to feel strong, capable, and confident despite the many roles they navigate each day. FIT MAMA reflects Boom’s belief that fitness is not just about performance, but about supporting women through every phase of life.

Following the birth of her son, Boom authored the children’s book Oliver and His Boom Bike, inspired by her desire to teach children the importance of movement and an active lifestyle from an early age. The book also emphasizes the role of family in building healthy habits. Boom and her husband, John Keeler, are avid cyclists who are passionate about passing those values on to their son.

An avid cyclist for nearly 25 years, Boom has also made a lasting impact in the cycling community. She owned BOOM Cycling, a company that manufactured and commercialized carbon bike frames, with proceeds dedicated to sponsoring junior cycling teams across the United States. She also co-founded the Rosebandits, an all-female cycling team launched at a time when the sport was predominantly male-dominated.

Erika currently lives between Miami, Florida, and Barranquilla, Colombia, with her husband and son. She is a dedicated hybrid athlete, blending road cycling, strength training, and the TA Movement Method. Her lifestyle brand, FIT MAMA, is a direct reflection of this dynamic and balanced approach to movement and wellness.

In 2026, Erika will reintroduce comprehensive fitness assessments as a core component of her online platform, designed to meet women wherever they are in their life journey. As she says, “I am excited to return to my roots in women’s health and fitness after all these years.”
